Campaigning for change

Our campaigns

The stories that clients share with us in Citizens Advice Bureaux give us a unique and fresh insight into the problems faced by people living in the UK.

With over 2 million clients each year, it’s the kind of evidence that’s hard to ignore; it becomes all too apparent when policies and services cause people issues.

We see it as our responsibility to create a public debate around these issues and speak up for our clients. You can support our campaigns to change things for the better.

Oil clubs

Join our oil club

Oil clubs are a great way to save money on fuel costs. They help the environment by cutting down the number of tanker journeys on roads and offer support for people struggling with fuel bills.

Citizens Advice has produced a range of guidance and tips to help communities in setting up and running oil clubs which are also known as oil-syndicates, oil buying groups or oil-cooperatives.

Spot the scam

You are a winner graphic

Scams and frauds cost people millions every year, causing misery and distress.

People can lose their life savings, find themselves with crippling debts and experience mental health problems.

Citizens Advice is working with Trading Standards across the country to raise awareness of scams, spot new scams and tackle the fraudsters.

Making ESA work better

Adviser and client

In the last year over 180,000 people visited their local CAB in need for advice on their employment and support allowance (ESA) claim. If you have claimed ESA, or are in the process of applying for ESA, you can help us to campaign for improvements to the benefit and its service delivery.
